The year 2008 has been an historic year in regard to the international situation with the election of Barack Obama, the first African-American President after 50 years of racial segregation. This event has become a symbol and a hope for innumerable people and countries around the world. The year 2009 will be, I hope, the actual realization of this wonderful hope, to finally put an end to ethnic, political, and religious conflict everywhere.
